Bikepackers!  This is my go-to back country baselayer.  It's as light as a feather (155g in XXL), super quick drying, and warm as all get out.  If you're like me, you'll wonder how you ever lived without this piece in your cycling wardrobe.  Between 25F and 60F it's all you'll need underneath a light long sleeve jersey. It's so much warmer than any vest / gilet that you own because it also covers the shoulders and the upper arms, and it's totally windproof from the front. It's truly amazing to ride with this garment. You won't totally sweat it out because the back of the shirt is mesh, allowing your body to stay warm in the front and breathe in the back. To maximize the windstoppage, it's a form fit, and it's a Euro-size garment, so you'll want to size up from your normal U.S. size. I'm normally a XL size in most U.S. shirts and the XXL (euro size 7) is my size in this garment. Take my word for it people, you need this shirt before you set out for your next backcountry adventure. Wear it all day in the mountains and enjoy the breathability on the climbs and the warmth on the descents, and in the deserts, enjoy it in the evening and morning and change it out for something a little lighter in the middle of the day.
